North Lake Tahoe and Truckee commercial, lodging, and residential developments.
Residences At Jibboom
The Planning Division has received an application for a proposed multifamily residential project on Jibboom Street in Downtown Truckee (“Residences at Jibboom”). The project features 83 residential units in four buildings, with 49 rental apartments, 34 for-sale residential units, a 1,294-square-foot laundromat, and a 484-square-foot retail space.
Tahoe City lodge
Currently many visitors pass through Tahoe City and do not stay overnight due to a lack of adequate quality lodging options. Tahoe City Lodge will boost local business and help Tahoe City return to its reputation as a leading destination for overnight visitors who come to enjoy beautiful views, a pedestrian friendly commercial district and lakefront park. The Tahoe City Lodge aligns to the vision recently created by the hundreds of people who participated in local planning processes.
Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows Base-to-Base Gondola
The project proposes a Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows Base-to-Base Gondola which would include installation, operation, and maintenance of a gondola connecting the Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows ski areas. The project would also include installation, operation, and maintenance of an avalanche control system within the Alpine Meadows portion of the gondola alignment.
The Truckee Railyard
With land acquisition, entitlements, and eight years of planning complete, Holliday Development is preparing to break ground on major infrastructure improvements and the first blocks of development. Now is a great moment for investors, commercial interests, and development partners to become a part of the future of the Truckee Railyard. The plan for the Railyard builds on a strong sense of community, a well-loved destination, and a world-class location by filling major voids in the Tahoe region’s marketplace.

Both properties are rated as Category B (Contributory) historic resources in Truckee’s Historic Resource Inventory.
Route 89 and Fanny Bridge Community Revitalization Project
Tahoe Transportation District has been the local lead agency for the SR 89 and Fanny Bridge Community Revitalization Project. In 2011, TTD began an extensive public outreach campaign. The campaign focused on collaboratively working with Tahoe City residents, local agencies and organizations, along with business and property owners to receive public input to help create a final project design.

The implementation of the Coldstream Specific Plan will provide a major link to the Truckee Legacy Trail that will ultimately connect to Donner Memorial State Park and Coldstream Canyon through the Plan Area.
The Village at Squaw redevelopment plan
Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows is redeveloping and completing the unfinished base area Village at Squaw Valley to reestablish the resort as a premiere mountain resort destination and ensure that it has a sustainable future.
The plan, consisting of new lodging, an indoor recreation area, commercial space, leveled parking and employee housing on 93.3 acres of developed land and parking lot in Olympic Valley, was approved by the Placer County Board of Supervisors on November 15, 2016.
Keep Squaw True: The fight for sustainable development in Squaw Valley
Real estate speculators want to transform Squaw Valley with development unlike anything North Lake Tahoe has ever seen. Sierra Watch and Keep Squaw True, is the only thing standing between Squaw Valley and acres of high-rise condo hotels and an indoor water park that threaten the environment, quality of life, and mountain values of the entire region. In the eight years since Alterra and their parent company, KSL Capital Partners, first proposed to remake Squaw Valley, nothing has been built.
