Italians inspired us with their music from their balconies. Spain is banging on pots and pans. And now Americans across the country are finding solidarity by howling at 8 pm each night to recognize those working on the front lines. It’s hard to say where the howl originated but I’ve seen claims of Mill Valley, Denver, and more. Most claims attribute it to a version of the social media movement #SolidarityAt8 which encourages people worldwide to step outside at 8 pm to applaud the front line workers. It has essentially evolved in unison across the United States and spread across the globe.

Read MoreThe fight against the spread of COVID-19 marches on and we are still in the early days of figuring out our new (temporary) norms and routines and finding new ways to keep our sanity. The craziest thing is that however alone and isolated we are feeling, we are all in this together. And this is not forever. We will feel human again, we will see our friends and family again, we will socialize and have parties and go to restaurants and coffeeshops again. We will persevere and we will bounce back. In the meantime though the Fed and the government are taking drastic measures to protect us from a major fallout as best they can.

February 2019 crushed us with record amounts of snow which limited potential sellers from listing their homes and hindered buyers from touring. Home sales in January 2020 are on par with those of January 2019, which is not a great sign for our current inventory levels.
